Orange County Coffee Roasters was founded during the summer of 2000 in Orange, Virginia, by Al and Deb Welker. The company started because of a need for high-quality, responsibly grown coffee from all around the world at a fair price. Orange County Coffee Roasters operated for the first five years in Orange then moved to Gordonsville and operated there as a wholesale coffee roasting facility until May of 2011.
In May of 2011, Orange County Coffee Roasters moved to their new home in Orange. We purchase only the finest coffee that can be found anywhere and always strive to purchase coffee that is "responsibly grown" (no pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals, and friendly to the wildlife and the environment) and "fairly traded" (ensures that the people doing the work are paid a fair wage).
Whenever possible, Orange County Coffee Roasters buys directly from the plantation owners or co-ops where they are making a real impact on their community and meet our standards. In August of 2011, we launched our website to make our coffee available online to our retail customers.
